USA sponsors ACIT South Texas & ABC Economic Outlook Event in Corpus Christi

ACIT South Texas joined with the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) to co-host an Economic Outlook Forum on January 17th at the Ortiz International Center in Corpus Christi.

Nearly 200 people attended the event to hear industry forecasts from panelists including: Frank Brogan with the Port of Corpus Christi; Sonny Loudon, Vice President at CITGO (refineries economic outlook); Tom Russell, President & CEO of Sherwin Alumina Company (chemicals economic outlook); and Fuat Sezer, President & District Manager, Kiewit Offshore Services.

TCC President Hector Rivero also provided attendees with an overview of several key legislative issues facing the chemical industry and an update about the Texas state primary election, which has been delayed as a result of lawsuits over Congressional and State House & Senate redistricting maps.

ACIT thanks the many elected officials that attended the luncheon including Port Commissioners Bob Kostelnik, Richard Borchard, and Charles Zahn; Nueces County Commissioners Mike Carrell, Mike Pusley, Joe McComb, and Joe Gonzalez; San Patricio County Commissioners Nina Trevino, Alma Moreno, and Fred Nardini; and Corpus Christi City Councilmembers Nelda Martinez and David Loeb.
